ProgrammingThe gymnasium, kitchen and courtyard are available for rentals any day of the week. Please see below for more information. In addition to facilitating events for private groups, some of our renters provide programs or events that are open to members of the public. Cool Aid staff and volunteers also routinely organize special events and on-going drop-in programs for the benefit of the local community. Current daily drop-in programs:

Downtown Meeting Room and Gym RentalsThe Downtown Community Activity Centre supports community activities that focus on healthy living, health promotion and social diversity. We offer rental opportunities seven days a week to diverse groups and individuals for various private and community events. Our facilities are available for rental to any individuals, groups and organizations seeking an open, welcoming and centrally-located venue to host their events or community programs (available for short and long-term rentals). We offer for rent at affordable rates a mid-size gymnasium space, a non-commercial kitchen, and an outdoor courtyard. See below for room dimensions and capacity. Our facilities have been host to a variety of programs and events, including Kindergym, Tai Chi & Martial Arts classes, Basketball, Volleyball, Annual General Meetings, Art and Music classes, Yoga, Seminars and Workshops, Sports and Recreation, Public Meetings, Corporate Team Building, Community Kitchens and other Special Events. Voice Mail ServiceThe Victoria Voice Mail service is a 24-hour, 7-day a week automated voicemail service, which offers an inexpensive alternative to phone and cellular service. The voice mail service allows people (such as employers, family and friends) to stay in touch with you, and is accessible from any touch-tone phone. CostVictoria Voice Mail Service costs $5 per month, payable in advance. There are no fees for connection, disconnection or reconnection. No equipment such as phones, answering machines or pagers need to be purchased. RegistrationYou can register in person at the Downtown Community Activity Centre, 755 Pandora Avenue: new registrations are activated the same day. You will be assigned a phone number and a private extension or box number. Identification, credit checks, security deposits and co-signers are not required. ServiceRegistration, payments and answers to questions are available 9 to 12 pm and 1 to 3 pm, Monday to Friday at 755 Pandora. Contact the Downtown Community Activity Centre for more information. |
