Leave A Gift In Your Will

Cool Aid is working to end homelessness in the Capital Region. Your bequest can make a huge difference in the lives of vulnerable people and our community today, and long into the future. Undesignated estate gifts are used to support a capital program such as new housing plus the Cool Aid Endowment.

If you’d like to see how generous donations have helped clients during this past year, the 2024 Donor Impact Report is now available.

Please contact us if you’d like to learn more about making a gift in your will or other types of planned gifts at donate@coolaid.org

Giving Shares Can Make A Big Impact

Did you know that when you sell shares in a non-registered investment account a significant portion will be taxed? This is because 50% of the shares’ appreciated value (the capital gain) is taxable. But when you transfer your shares directly to a registered charity, you don’t pay any capital gains tax and still receive a charitable tax receipt for the fair market value of the shares at the time of disposition by the charity.

If you’d like to see how generous donations have helped clients during the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2024 Donor Impact Report is now available.

If you have some shares you’d like to donate to Cool Aid, simply have your broker fill out the donation of securities form and email Cool Aid at  donate@coolaid.org or fax 250-383-1639.
